Safety Rules
All shooters must register with the club and the front office of the Lee Kay range to shoot Before shooting
(You can call in from town)
Bad attitudes are a Match DQ, no interpersonal conflicts will be tolerated
No drugs, alcohol or impairing medications before or while shooting
No unapproved external modifications of guns allowed at a match
If you gun jams or breaks put down safely or pass it off and finish the stage
If something screws you or your gun up before the first shot, stop and restart, no penalty
If you shoot the first shot you have committed yourself to the stage, finish it
Misses do not carry over if the problem was not you or your equipment on a reshoot other penalties do carry over.
Shoot the stage as described, failure to do so will likely result in a P or SOG penalty
If you have a physical consideration let us know before you shoot
If you are not ready to shoot the stage as described do not go to the line
If you are not able to shoot correctly due to the RO or props say so before you shoot
If you just screw up, tell it to your dog at home
All shooters must be accompanied by an experienced shooter at least one must be a certified range RO, see list.
No less than two persons shall be on the range at any time one must be a certified RO, see list.
All shooters and spectators within the firing area must wear eye protection
All shooters should wear ear protection
This is a lead bullet only range, no jackets, copper wash or plating of any kind
All guns remain open and empty until going from the loading table to the firing line
Keep muzzles up at all times except when firing
The 170 degree rule is a cone of safety into which the guns must be pointed when loaded
The 170 cone is parallel to the targets and perpendicular to the shooting line in each bay
The 170 cone rule will be enforced from the loading to unloading table
Dropping an unloaded gun or sweeping someone with an unloaded gun is a Stage DQ
Dropping a loaded gun or sweeping someone with a loaded gun is a Match DQ
Not adhering to the loading and unloading procedures is a Stage DQ; repeated violatons will be an MDQ.
Load only at the loading table, cap and ball may be charged at the unloading table then capped at the loading table.
No dry firing at the loading table
This is a cold range no loaded guns except going to the shooting line
Load only the number of rounds you are going to shoot, an overload may result in an MSV or SDQ.
Make sure your guns are empty prior to loading and after unloading
A live round on the carrier is a minor safety; in the chamber is a Stage DQ
Staging, moving or holstering a gun with the hammer cocked or down on a live round is a Stage DQ
Discharge of a round within 5 feet of the firing line or into a (permanent) prop is a Match DQ
Unsafe gun handling may result in a Stage DQ repeated violation may result in an MDQ..

Range Rules

Inappropriate, unauthorized use of the range results in permanent removal from the range
Bad attitudes are a Match DQ, no interpersonal conflicts will be tolerated
The range must be cleaned of brass and debris after each shooting session
The trailers and gates must be closed and locked, props and targets reset
Check out at the front office (or by phone) so they know the range is not occupied
Turn the water and lights off and Lock the gates on your way out
